We have a lot of fun ways for you to participate in the 2024 Columbia Hometown Festival.

BABY LIBERTY PAGEANT

Age Divisions: 6-18 months, 19-35 months, 3-year-old

DEADLINE TO ENTER: FRIDAY, JUNE 28, 6:00 p.m

RULES: 

1. Open to boys and girls ages six months to three years old.

2. The child must be dressed in Red, White, and blue.

3. The child must be the age of division entering by the day of the contest.  

4. A parent must be on the stage with the child. 

5. The decisions of the judges are final. 

7. Judged by costume and overall appearance. 

8. The director has the right to combine or split groups. 

9. All children and one adult are invited to the Queen’s Luncheon at 2:00 


Photography Contest

RULES

1. The photo must be a maximum of 5 x 7 and in its original state and cannot be altered in any

way, including but not limited to removing, adding, reversing, or distorting subjects within the frame. (Color or B & W are accepted)

2. Photos must be patriotic-themed and submitted with a $10.00 fee per photo by Saturday,

June 1, 2024. Only one entry per category is allowed, but multiple categories are permitted.

3. Entries will be judged by the Columbia Youth Players and winners will be displayed at the

Columbia Station Homecoming, June 28-30, 2024 at the Columbia Township Park. All decisions are final. The Columbia Youth Players reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is deemed inappropriate or does not conform to stated contest rules.

4. By entering the contest, entrants agree that photos submitted can be used by the Columbia Youth Players for advertising and marketing purposes.

5. Submissions will not be accepted after the deadline.

6. One winner will be selected in each competition. The $25.00 prize per category may be picked up at The Columbia Youth Players booth during Homecoming weekend.

7. Photos must be picked up by 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 30.

8. Pictures featuring individuals must submit the attached release form.


Coloring Contest

DEADLINE: Saturday, June 1, 2024

WINNERS ANNOUNCED: Fri., June 28, 5 p.m. at the opening of Columbia Station Homecoming/ Township Park Gazebo

Prizes: Each age division: 1st Place, $10.00/ 2nd Place $5.00/ 3rd Place $3.00. 

Each entry that attends Homecoming will receive a ribbon.

Hometown Festival Parade

RULES:

1. Nothing can be thrown from a vehicle. Walkers may walk alongside vehicles and distribute candy/flyers.

2. Motorized Vehicles begin at the Eagle’s Club, 27190 Royalton Road.

3. Walkers, bands, drill, and dance teams begin at Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 25801 Royalton Road.

4. Adults must attend with youth under the age of eighteen.

COLUMBIA HOMETOWN FESTIVAL ESSAY AND POETRY CONTESTS

WHO CAN ENTER

The contest is open to 5th through 12th-grade students enrolled in the Columbia Station School District, or students who have a Columbia Station mailing address and attend another private or public school district, or are homeschooled.

WINNERS

There will be one essay winner and poetry winner in grades 5th-8th, and one essay winner and one poetry winner in grades 9-12. There will also be two runners-up in each category and age group. Each winner will receive $100.00 and each runner-up will receive a $25.00 food voucher for the Festival. Each winner will be invited to read their winning piece at the 75th Celebration Columbia Hometown Opening on Friday, June 28 at 5 p.m. in the Columbia Township Park.


Patriotic Cooking Contest

RULES

1. The entry form, recipe, and entry fee of $10.00 per item are due by June 1, 2024.

2. Only one item per category is allowed, but, multiple categories are permitted.

3. All items should be a patriotic theme or red, white, or blue.

4. All entries must be in the cooking tent by 2:30 on Sunday, June 30.

5. Entry forms received after June 1 will be charged a $2.00 late fee per item.

6. Ribbons and gift bags will be awarded to three age groups in each of the following divisions:

Appetizer, Entrée/Breakfast, Entrée/Dinner, Dessert/cake, Dessert/Pie, & Other

7. Cooks must provide one serving for the judges to sample and cooks are encouraged to provide free samples in the judging tent for spectators.

8. Items will be auctioned after the competition. Please use a disposable container.


Patriotic Upcycle Art Contest

Rules

1. Each entry must be made of disposable items and must be original.

2. Each entry must be comprised of the colors, red, white, or blue.

3. Each entry should have a patriotic theme.

4. Each entry must be delivered to Columbia Township Park by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2024, with an entry form and a $10.00 entry fee per entry.

5. Entries will be on display Friday and Saturday, June 28 and 29 in the park, and artists are asked to donate their items for the Sunday, June 30 raffle.

6. Donating your item is NOT mandatory.

7. All participants will receive a ribbon.

8. A winner in each age division will receive a $25.00 prize. Additional prizes will be awarded based on the total of entries.
